Cub Scout Uniform

All Cub Scouts should wear their Class A uniform to all Pack activities, including pack meetings, unit outings, and any activities done with members of the den or pack.

When attending den meetings, scouts may wear any appropriate clothing.

Where to Buy Uniform and Patches:

Blog Post: The Most Important Tip for Buying Your Cub Scout Uniform

The Class A uniform should be worn at Pack functions including Den meetings, Pack meetings and Pack Activities, unless otherwise indicated.  Since your scout may be wearing the blue shirt for three years, and the tan shirt can be worn into Boy Scouts, you might consider buying a larger size shirt to allow for growth.

Class A Uniform includes:

  • Shirt
  • Pants/Shorts – official Cub Scout pants or wear your own, with belt loops
  • Belt
  • Neckerchief
  • Slide
  • Hat
  • Socks are not required

Patches

Scouts should wear the following patches:

  • Purple World Crest patch
  • Sequoyah Council patch
  • Pack numerals patches 2, 5, and 0
  • Den # patch

Patches can be sewn on the uniform or adhered with products like Badge Magic (sold at the Boy Scout Store and online).

The official Cub Scout website (button below) shows how to wear patches and awards for your specific rank. You can also find this information in your scout’s Handbook.

Uniform Recycling

Some of our scouts choose to donate their uniforms (or slides, neckerchiefs, hats, etc.) back to the pack once they are done using them. Please reach out to the cubmaster, if you would like to see what uniform items, we have available, or to donate your old uniform.
